ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to the following:
- Read and comprehend prints and understand what material needs to be assembled and/or marked for prep
- Ability to determine grades of material and/or different material sizes and shapes
- Ability to trouble shoot
- Cutting, coping, shaping and fit-up of steel members per shop drawings using the torch, grinder, drill press, mag drill, piranha, cold saw, track burner
- Make necessary markings and/or center punches on material for material prep
- Assemble by tack welding necessary steel components i.e. stiffener plates, cap plates that make up a beam, column, stair and/or frames that are simple to intricate large or small at a fast pace
- Moving, flipping and staging all necessary materials with the overhead crane and/or jib crane and possibly the forklift
- Operating the shear and press break
- Weld components i.e. base plates, stiffener plates, cap plates, rebar
- Weld larger frames (including CJP welds) at a fast pace
- Replacing wire in welding machines
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- GED/High School Diploma (Not Necessarily Needed)
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and move around for long periods of time
- Min. 20yrs. Experience working in a structural and/or miscellaneous shop environment
- Must know how to read prints and a tape measure
- Must be certified to tack weld (stick) minimum

PAY RANGE
$20.00 – $35.00 p/hour
